Attention Fort McCoy Users: Fort McCoy will soon require that all firearms brought on to the installation have to be registered through the Fort McCoy Police Department. This requirement pertains to anyone with a firearm in their possession that is on Fort McCoy for any reason including hunting, fishing, trapping, camping, shooting range, or visiting members on the Fort McCoy community. More information, including the registration form, will be posted on iSportsman, Hunter Information Point, and Pine View campground soon. If you have questions related to hunting, fishing and trapping opportunities, call Permit Sales at 608-388-3337. Questions related to firearms registration should be directed to the Fort McCoy Police Department at 608-388-2266. Camping and Sportsman Range questions can be directed to 608-388-7400.
Hunting, Fishing, Trapping & Firewood Cutting
Fort McCoy offers hunting, fishing, and trapping opportunities to military (active and retired) and their dependents, government employees, and the general public. All participants must have the appropriate Fort McCoy permit and State of Wisconsin licenses before they are allowed to hunt, fish, or trap on Fort McCoy.
All hunting and fishing activities on Fort McCoy require a Fort McCoy permit.

The iSportsman technical issue regarding awarded permits has been resolved.
Users are now able to proceed to add awarded permits to their iSportsman account (Step 1).
Step 1: Add the awarded permit to your iSportsman account. Login into your iSportsman account, click on Acquire/Available Permit(s), add awarded permit(s) to your cart, Check-Out, and Confirm your iSportsman order ($0.00). You need to ADD and the awarded permit to your iSportsman account in order to sign-in during your hunting season.

HCA Hunters Choice Approval (HCA) results will be posted to individual iSportsmans accounts by 31 August, 2017. Continue to check with the iSportsman home page for further updates regarding the drawing results.
Fort McCoy small game, regular archery, and fishing permits may be purchased anytime through the DNR GoWild system and no application is required.
Notice: The iSportsman kiosk located at the Hunter Information Point is temporarily out of service due to the recent weather events. Users who need to use the kiosk to sign-in, please use the sign-in sheets located to the right of the kiosk or call the Permit Sales Office at 608-388-3337 for assistance.
2017 Online Applications Now Available for Disabled Gun Deer Hunting Permits.
Fort McCoy will be hosting it's 12th annual gun-season for hunters with disabilities.

Participants and assistants are required to attend a mandatory safety and information briefing prior to the hunt.

Lake and Training Area Closures
The Game Line, accessed by calling (866) 277-1597 or online lists hunting areas and lakes that are closed on any particular day. The Game Line listing will be updated by Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security (DPTMS). Fort McCoy reserves the right to update hunting area closures at any time if needed. ALL individuals are required to check the Game Line daily for any changes. Streams are closed to fishing if the training area it is in is closed.
Note to Anglers: If you are inquiring if a lake is open to fishing, select area "Lakes".
Sign-in/out: ALL users (except those fishing) are required to sign-in and sign-out through iSportsman daily when hunting or scouting on Fort McCoy. If the hunter intends to participate in multiple hunting activities on a given day, sign-in should be done for the primary activity. See the specific hunting season regulation for detailed information. Hunters who do not sign-in/sign-out are subject to penalties including revocation of hunting, fishing, trapping and firewood collection privileges.
